This is the one to watch right before bed.
Brush your teeth. Turn out the light. Climb under the covers. Then press play and let the aurora do the rest.
Some aurora shows are spectacle — big curtains, wild dancing, red pillars shooting up out of nowhere, your heart pounding while you try to predict and follow the movement. Those nights are their own kind of magic. But this one wasn't that. This one is the other kind.
It was simply a green band along the horizon. A soft pink wash above her and the reflection of it all in the still waters of the lake below. Frame after frame of peaceful change - slow enough to quiet the mind, surprising enough to keep you watching.
That's what I love about this show. The ease. The way the colors stay instead of flashing and disappearing. They hold steady. They feel like a friend who isn't going anywhere, who's content to just sit with you for a while, who doesn't need you to be anything but tired.
Honestly, I think we need more of that. More things that stay. More beauty that doesn't demand our attention - that simply and quietly lets us take what we need.
So here's what I hope for you tonight: that this little show tucks you in. That the green glow finds its way behind your eyelids. That whatever hard thing challenged you today loosens its grip for a few hours. That you sleep deeply. That you dream in soft colors. That you wake up tomorrow with a little more hope than you went to bed with.
The sky will still be there in the morning. So will the people who love you.
Goodnight and sweet dreams.
